    Product Name Description
     VHF Series (DCEVHF)

    The DCEVHF units are typically used as the final stage in a receiver chain. They provide an excellent means to translate standard VHF frequencies to a common HF stage. Several functional and performance options are available for these units. The IF outputs are suitable for direct A/D conversion and video applications.

     UHF/L/S Series (DCEUHF/DCEL/DCES)

    These down converters are used in numerous communication applications. Various options are available to customize the unit for the userís particular system. Multichannel versions of these units have been produced to allow the user to utilize a single antenna and feed. The IF outputs are suitable for video or high speed A/D applications as well as inputs for further frequency translation. The DCEVHF series is an ideal choice for this translation.

     X-Band Series (DCEX)

    The DCEX series is very popular in radar applications. Their primary use is as a front end to a down conversion chain, but the down converters can also be utilized as an intermediate stage. As with the DCEKU series, the amplifier characteristics can be tailored to meet user requirements. Coupling the assembly with an agile local oscillator provides a constant IF for a frequency agile system. Fast switching attenuators allow the system to provide a flat gain response over the operational bandwidth. Several options are available. The IF output of these units can be further translated using the DCEUHF, DCEL, or DCES series.

     Ku-Band Series (DCEKU)

    The DCEKU down converter units are employed as front end devices or secondary stages of a receiver chain. For front end applications, a variety of LNA characteristics are available for the user to choose from. Modular design allows the units to be optimized for IF frequencies at X-Band or S-Band depending on the userís requirements. Signal conditioning, such as variable gain control, is also available. The IF output is designed to directly interface with either the DCEX or DCES series.

     Ka-Band Series (DCEKA)

    These down converter units have excellent dynamic range and signal fidelity characteristics. The internal Low Noise Amplifiers, which exhibit a noise figure of 5 dB, allow the units to be used as front end devices for many receiver applications. The Ku-Band output is typically not used as a final output stage, but is normally followed by an additional down conversion stage such as the DCEKU.

     VHF Series (UCEVHF)

    The UCEVHF units are typically used as the first stage in an up conversion chain or as a transmitter assembly. The RF output can be optimized for transmission by selecting from a host of power and gain characteristics. As the first stage in an up conversion chain, the units are easily customized to fit into existing systems. The UCEUHF, UCEL, and UCES series accept the RF output of this series for further frequency translation.

     UHF/L/S Series (UCEUHF/UCEL/UCES)

    These units are employed in a variety of commercial applications. Modular construction allows the UCEUHF, UCEL, or UCES series to be utilized as a power amplifier assembly or an intermediate up conversion stage. The up converters can be coupled with a tunable local oscillator for use in many telemetry applications. The RF output of these units can be further translated in frequency using the UCEX or UCEKU series.

     X-Band Series (UCEX)

    The UCEX series has been extensively used in radar applications. As the final stage before transmission or as an intermediate step, the units provide translation between UHF, L, S, and X-Band frequencies. The units can be augmented with variable gain control, tunable output selections, or several other functions. The RF output of these units is suitable for translation to higher frequencies using the UCEKU series.

     Ku-Band Series (UCEKU)

    These up converter units are designed to convert S and X-Band signals to Ku-Band frequencies. The UCEKU series has been used in high resolution radar applications. Units can be augmented with variable gain control or other options. The RF output of these units is suitable for input to the UCEKA series.

     Ka-Band Series (UCEKA)

    These units are typically used for high resolution radar applications. The UCEKA series provides a means of translating Ku-Band frequencies to Ka-Band. The RF output of these up converters is suitable for input into a high power solid state amplifier or traveling wave tube.
